Whole loaf garlic bread
Recipe (in sequence):
1 1/8 cup warm water
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 cloves crushed garlic
3 cups bread flour + 2 Tbsp additional bread flour (due to reduction of sugar)
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp dried basil leaves
1 tsp dried onion flakes
1 tsp black pepper
2 Tbsp organic instant dry yeast
(1) In a breadmaker, put the ingredients as according to the list (listed above).
Mode: Basic
Crust: Light
Weight: 1.5 lb, or 700 g setting
(2) Once done, leave the bread in the breadmaker till consuming time - if not rushing to eat. Alternatively, leave the bread for 10 minutes before removing it to the cooling rack. Slice when the bread has cooled down completely.
Results: This is the first attempt making bread using breadmaker. The texture is soft, but the skin is slightly hard. Nevertheless, the smell of the bread is fragrant. For future, will try using less flour or more liquid to test if the skin will be softer.
